"Cats Do Control Humans, Study Finds"...see....CATS = DEVILS

(July 13) - If you've ever wondered who's in control, you or your cat, a new study points to the obvious. It's your cat.

Household cats exercise this control with a certain type of urgent-sounding, high-pitched meow, according to the findings.

7/13/09....Blah....

1. Cruiserweight - Calling You From Hell

2. The Weakerthans - None Of The Above

Possibly THE BEST lyrics to a song ever. Maybe it’s just because I associate it with a specific person and a certain time, but fuck it destroys me every damn time…

"All night restaurant, North Kildonan. Luke warm coffee tastes like soap.
I trace your outline in spilled sugar, killing time and killing hope.
This brand new strip mall chews on farmland as we fish for someone to blame.
But we communicate in questions, and all our answers sound the same.
Under sputtering flourescents, after re-fills are re-filled. Negotiations at a stand-still,
spoon and rolling saucer stilled. If you ask how I got so bitter, I'll ask how
you got so vain. And all our questions blur together. The answers always sound
the same. We can't look at one another. I'll say something thoughtful soon, but
I can't listen to the quiet so I hum this mindless tune I stole from some dumb
country-rock star. I don't even know his name. It's like my stupid little
questions: the answers always sound the same.Tell me why I have to miss you so.
Tell me why we sound so lame. Why we communicate in questions and all our
answers sound the same."

3. Depeche Mode - Shake The Disease

4. Matt Skiba (Alkaline Trio) - The City That Day

5. Limbeck - I Wrote This Down

"Swearing Makes Pain More Tolerable".....

I'm applying this too emotional pain as well, so go fuck yourselves!

Swearing Makes Pain More Tolerable

That muttered curse word that reflexively comes out when you stub your toe could actually make it easier to bear the throbbing pain, a new study suggests.

Swearing is a common response to pain, but no previous research has connected the uttering of an expletive to the actual physical experience of pain.

"Swearing has been around for centuries and is an almost universal human linguistic phenomenon," said Richard Stephens of Keele University in England and one of the authors of the new study. "It taps into emotional brain centers and appears to arise in the right brain, whereas most language production occurs in the left cerebral hemisphere of the brain."

Artie Lange High on The Howard Stern Show....

Really sad and funny...not sure....

One for the road...the weekend road....

Since it's Friday, I decided I would do one extra one, just to be nice...

Also, after giving it much thought, I have decided if I ever get to make a movie and I had to trust one band to capture the mood and lyrics of every part, it would be The Weakerthans...they're just consistently awesome and are so good at capturing the average day, the average life...on that note....

1. The Weakerthans - Confessions of a Futon Revolutionist

Held like water in you shaking hands are all the small defeats a day demands. 10-6 or 9-5 trying, dying to survive. Never knowing what survival means. Leave the apartment to buy alcohol. Hang our diplomas on the bathroom wall. Pick at the plaster chipped away, survey some stunning tooth decay, enlist the cat in the impending class-war. Let's lay our bad day down here, dear and make-believe we're strong, or hum some protest song. Like maybe We Shall Overcome Someday.
Overcome the stupid things we say. Say I needed more than this, say I needed one more kiss. We left that light on way too long now. Let's plant a bomb at city-hall and kill an MLA. We'll talk the night away. You call in sick, I'll quit the word-games that I play. I swear I way more than half believe it when I say that somewhere love and justice shine. Cynicism falls asleep. Tyranny talks to itself. Sappy slogans all come true. We forget to feed our fear.

2. Tegan and Sara - Call It Off (Letterman 10/7/2008)

3. Jawbreaker – Jet Black

4. Down to Earth Approach - EXHIBIT OF THE YEAR

down to earth approach

5. Tegan And Sara - Dark Come Soon

7/10/09...it's Friday...it's Alkaline Trio Acoustic Day cause it feels right so F off!

1. Alkaline trio - Private Eye (Live acoustic)

Favorite Lines:

New Year's Eve was as boring as heaven
I watched flies fuck on channel 11
There was no one to kiss, there was nothing to drink
Except some old rotten milk someone left in the sink
And there's no ring on the phone anymore
There's no reason to call I passed out on the floor
Smoked myself stupid and drank my insides raisin dry
But at the right place at the right time
I'll be dead wrong and you'll be just fine
And I won't have to quit doing fucked up shit
For anyone but me

2. Alkaline Trio - In My Stomach

Favorite Lines:

In this shadow, I shrink and it knows
I can't move, I can't sleep.
Terrified by my own bloodshot eyes.
So, I'll wait here and pray.
I prayed that I was all wrong about prayer.
And I do know that this is truly tired.

3. Alkaline Trio - Hell Yes (Live Acoustic)

Favorite Lines:

You gave up on me along time ago
I can't say I blame you
I rejected the faith in your holy rays
Is what it comes down to
They said everything would work out just fine
I just went crazy
But I'm better now having a good time
Being selfish, and drunken, and vulgar, and lazy

4. Alkaline Trio - Emma (Acoustic)

Favorite Lines: ....eh, fuck it...you get em all for this one!

Emma appeared like an angel
Emma fell like rain
Into my lap like a heart attack, like lightning from her name
I'm running dry of bad excuses
Don't want to lie or seem intrusive
But time hasn't told me anything, and neither has she

A poinsettia in poison rain
Traded true love for insult and injury
We washed it down the drain with one silver bullet and two vicodin
With two vicodin

Emma woke up in darkness, suitcase already packed
Note on the bedstand signed in blood, "Sincerely, never coming back."
A nightmare on my street the day she arrived
A nightmarish household in which she died, because it made her feel at home
Somehow made me feel at home

A poinsettia in poison rain
Traded true love for insult and injury
We washed it down the drain with one wooden stake through the heart and two vicodin

A poinsettia in poison rain
Traded true love for insult and injury
We washed it down the drain with one silver bullet and two vicodin
We watched the sun fall crown on a city that sleeps in a world upside down
A slow ticket straight out of town
You went out with a bang when you took with you all my dreams underground
With you all my dreams underground

5. Alkaline Trio - My Friend Peter (Live Acoustic)

Favorite Lines:

And I'm tired of sleeping with myself
I'm tired, all these drinks and drugs no longer help
I'm tired of lying about not thinking of you
Maybe my friend Peter can tell me what to do

(rest of lyrics)

6. Alkaline Trio - Goodbye Forever (Live Acoustic)

Favorite Lines:

Take your wings outside,
No use for them in here.
Bad luck to open inside, work like umbrellas, like a broken mirror.
It's getting clearer-
The end is closer than ever before and you'll want nothing more
Then your head hits the floor, and you're lost in the darkness.
